Palin Grandson is Born - Tripp Easton Mitchell
From the AP:
Bristol Palin, 18, gave birth to Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston on Saturday, People magazine reported online. He weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces. Colleen Jones, the sister of Bristol’s grandmother, told the magazine that “the baby is fine and Bristol is doing well.”
The governor’s office said it would not release information because it considers the baby’s birth a private, family matter. Palin family members, hospital employees and spokespeople for the governor’s former running mate, John McCain, either would not confirm the birth or did not return messages from The Associated Press.

Victory for Childen of Same-Sex Parents
In a major victory for same-sex parents nationwide, a U.S. District Court judge in Louisiana has ordered the state registrar to honor the New York adoption of a baby boy by a same-sex couple, saying her continued failure to do so violated the U.S. Constitution.

DECEMBER 23–President-elect Barack Obama and two of his top advisers were interviewed last week by federal prosecutors probing Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich’s alleged bid to sell Obama’s vacated Senate seat, according to a report issued today by an Obama lawyer. The lawyer, Gregory Craig, concluded that Obama and his aides engaged in no improper conduct in connection with the Senate opening. A copy of the Craig report can be found below. As part of his review of transition team “contacts” with Blagojevich, Craig reported that only incoming White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel had spoke with the Illinois pol. Emanuel, Craig disclosed, had “one or two telephone calls” with Blagojevich in early-November. Emanuel reportedly gave Blagojevich a “heads up” that he was accepting Obama’s offer of the chief of staff job (and, as a result, would be resigning his congressional seat). Emanuel also “had a brief discussion with the Governor about the Senate seat and the merits of various people whom the Governor might consider.” Craig also noted that Emanuel had “about four telephone conversations with John Harris, Chief of Staff to the Governor, on the subject of the Senate seat. In these conversations, Mr. Emanuel and Mr. Harris discussed the merits of potential candidates and the strategic benefit that each candidate would bring to the Senate seat.” In addition to the president-elect, Emanuel and Valerie Jarrett, an Obama confidante, were interviewed in the past few days by investigators with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Chicago, which, on December 9, announced criminal charges against Blagojevich and Harris. Today New Warren Video - Melissa Etheridge Should Give Up on This Guy
After the jump, Warren’s new video. We’ve read what Mrs. and Mrs. Melissa Etheridge have said in their attempt to defend Rick Warren. We truly “get” their point of view. In fact, one of us spent several years inviting anti-gay ministers to lunch, over to the house for dinner, and even doing joint public appearances to talk about marriage equality.
We drew a line in the sand when it came to Little Man. That’s when it all ended. For all of the meetings, hugs, smiles and private support . . . we got NOTHING from these “good Christians” when it came time to legally protect our son’s relationship to his parents.

We’re not afraid of you - we’re just sick of some of you. The term “you” is used to describe self-proclaimed Christians who spend their time raising public opinion and money to hurt my family. Go away.

Melissa Etheridge Meets Rick Warren - Hollywood Farm Girl
The spouse of Melissa Etheridge gives us another side of the Rick Warren issue. Apparently Melissa Etheridge met Warren and the lovely spouse of Melissa gives us a few thoughts to ponder.
Tammy Lynn Michaels (born Tammy Lynn Doring), is also known by the surname Etheridge after marrying Melissa Etheridge in 2003. The couple had twins in 2006. You may remember Tammy as a regular cast member on the Warner Brothers Network television show Popular and she has guest-starred on the Showtime drama The L Word and a number of other shoes. Here is part of what Tammy Lynn says on her blog “hollywood farm girl”:
“rick is not a televangelist. rick is not falwell. rick spoke of some “stupid” things he’s said (his word, not mine), some missquotes that were given, and lots of ammunition from the media. all excellent points.
